Blueberries have the scientific name Vaccinium myrtillus, belonging to the heather family, native to Europe. Blueberry flowers are white or pale pink, clustered and  bell-shaped. Spring to early summer is the time to produce ripe fruit. Blueberries are green and turn dark purple or black when ripe.

When eaten, you will recognize the characteristic sweet, delicious and irresistible taste. Once harvested, blueberries are sorted and marketed, or put into a factory to produce excellent dried blueberries.
